Young Olivia goes for gold as she completes her 100th parkrun
Wallace Prep pupil Olivia Snodden recently reached a milestone when she completed her 100th parkrun in Hillsborough Forest Park.
Ten year old Olivia has always loved running. She began with junior parkruns at age six before stepping up to the 5k events at the age of eight, where she ran alongside her dad, Steve.
She completed her first event at Moira junior parkrun on October 17, 2021 and now that she has passed her goal of 100 runs, she has her sights set on completing 250 of the local events.
Olivia has recently been selected for the NI Athletics Junior Cross Country Endurance Squad and she is also a proud member of Lagan Valley Athletics Club Minis.

Speaking after completing her most recent parkrun in Hillsborough Forest Park, Olivia said: "Today I ran my 100th parkrun and I felt really proud.
"I love coming every week and seeing everyone, and all the volunteers are so kind.
"I’m really happy that all my hard runs helped me get a personal best.
"It felt amazing to finish today, and I’m excited to keep going and reach my next milestone."

Proud dad Steve said: “This is a significant milestone, particularly given her age.
"Olivia has shown great commitment and enthusiasm, regularly taking part in the weekly events and building up to this achievement through consistent effort and determination.
"Olivia really enjoys being part of the parkrun community and looks forward to taking part each week.
"She loves the friendly atmosphere and the encouragement from other runners and volunteers.”
