Steady trade for cattle at Markethill

Dairy stock sold in a steady trade at Markethill on Tuesday 9th February with a top of £1240 for a calved heifer from a Mountnorris farmer.

A Newry farmer received £1170 for a calved heifer. A calved heifer from a Loughgall farmer sold at £1030.

CULL COWS: The 150 cull cows returned another very strong trade. Beef-bred cows from £115 to £141 for 698k at £980. Fleshed Friesian cows to £112 for 900k at £1005. Main demand from £94 to £108 per 100 kilos. Second quality friesians from £80 to £90 per 100 kilos. The poorest types sold in a firmer demand from £60 to £75 per 100 kilos.

Main demand from £200 to £300 each.
