Time capsule found beneath Limavady Orange Hall
The time capsule, dating back all the way to February 1890, was found beneath the Co Londonderry hall last week and contained, amongst other artefacts, a copy of the Londonderry Sentinel and a copy of the Belfast Newsletter - both dated from February 1890.
Also buried in the foundations of the Orange Hall was a collection of coins and a resolution from a Unionist meeting.

The artefacts appear to be water damaged but most of the text on both newspapers can still be read.
Ulster Unionist Aaron Callan said: “We had read something about a time capsule having been buried in the foundations of the Orange Hall.
“We were saying to the builders to keep an eye out for something. We were all very excited to find it.

“Unfortunately, the artefacts were not in the best condition as some water had got into the bottle but they will go on display in the new Orange Hall when it is finished later this year.”
