It was belated this year due to the sudden and untimely death of one of the club’s founder members Mr Alex Presho, who was a great supporter at every event in more ways than one.

Norman Brown, whom Alex produced many top horses for over the years, kindly presented the club with a beautiful cut-glass trophy with a photo inscribed on it of Alex driving Rosehall Tara Maiden. The members were also made aware of sashes and rosettes being sponsored by the Roscourt, Deigratia and Marylind Hackney Studs in England for the forthcoming show on, May Day Bank Holiday Monday, May 2, 2016, to be held at Tullymurry Equestrian Centre, Downpatrick.

Present at the meeting as usual were some of the officials from the Northern Ireland Carriage Driving Association who invited the Whip and Collar Driving Club to join them at the prestigious Shane’s Castle for a show which has all the ingredients of a perfect day for all driving enthusiasts. In the words of Gordon Bell this was an invitation second to none and got the full backing from all present.

Committee member Jonathan Carnduff then presented the club with a very beneficial cash donation to help sponsor this spectacular event to be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the castle grounds. This show has all the criteria of being one most exhibitors only dream of.

A very open informative meeting took place which left all the members very happy and pleased to see they are moving in the right direction.

Everyone involved is looking forward to the showing season with renewed hope and optimism as they venture into another illustrious year of driving.
