Bursary presentation

At the recent careers day at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus, Rosalie Purcell from Ardara, Donegal received a bursary award from Giltspur Scientific.

This bursary was to commend her achievement in the Competition Preparation module, which is a first year module on the Foundation Degree (FdSc) Equine Management programme.

Students were required to write an essay on the ‘Importance of incorporating the Training Scale when preparing horses for affiliated competitions’. The winner received £500 to assist with her studies.

Upon receiving the award, Rosalie stated: “I am delighted to have won this award, kindly offered by Giltspur Scientific. I will use the money to help pay off my accommodation fees and the rest will go towards my work placement.”

Giltspur Scientific Ltd, based in Co Antrim, manufactures and markets unique, cost effective hoof care solutions for the bovine and equine industries worldwide. The company was founded in 1991 by the late Dr Ernest Logan.
