“Basically I hadn’t played a strokeplay event in months and months. My last one had been the European Amateur at the start of August.

“So I was trying to get out there to find my feet a little bit and to be competitive again.

“It took a while to get back into the swing of things but my game feels good and I’m looking forward to Turkey in a few weeks now that I have some game time under my belt.”

Cormac is guaranteed at least seven starts on the Challenge Tour this summer and has pencilled in events in Italy, Scotland and of course the NI Open at Galgorm Castle.

“I know my game is good enough. It is all about managing my schedule, managing my time and really getting back into being competitive,” added Cormac.
