West Brom in 'discussions' with Northern Ireland star over new contract after Championship brace
West Brom have reportedly opened discussions with Northern Ireland star Isaac Price over a new contract after scoring twice in Saturday’s 3-1 Championship win against Burnley.
Former Everton youngster Price joined the Baggies from Standard Liege in January 2025 and netted nine goals in 46 league matches across his first full season last term.
The 22-year-old has once again started the new campaign in fine form with his second half weekend brace helping West Brom maintain a perfect start to the season – they’re one of only three teams to win both of their opening Championship games.
According to the Express & Star, the News Letter’s sister title, West Brom are keen to tie Price down to an extended deal which would reflect his value and status in the team – he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract after joining the club.

Price has developed into one of Northern Ireland’s most important players, scoring 10 goals in 32 international matches, and joined an exclusive hat-trick club by netting a treble against Bulgaria at Windsor Park in October 2024.
The attacker is keen to build further on his goal numbers this season and manager Michael O’Neill will hope Price can carry his positive form into Northern Ireland’s Nations League campaign, which gets underway next month.
"I know I have those sort of goals in my locker, it’s just about scoring them now really,” Price told BBC WM. “I scored a few last year but I need to score more goals, I know that.
"I should have had two or three in the first half as well which are probably easier opportunities. I’m buzzing with the goals and with the win.
"I practice penalties every day and feel confident I can score.”
West Brom finished 21st in the Championship last season, four points above the relegation zone, and Price insists all associated with The Hawthorns club are remaining calm despite a solid start.
“Every game in the Championship is tough and it doesn't matter who you play," he added. "We had this last year - we started really well and it went downhill pretty fast, so it is about keeping our feet on the ground, keeping a level of consistency in performances to make sure that doesn't happen again.
"You are always learning as a player, even the lads who have played 2, 3, 400 games. It's about managing games and moments - we conceded a lot of goals that we shouldn't have last season and we didn't score enough at the other end.
"This year I want to be a key player where I show that that can't happen and I want to be a leader in this team to make sure it doesn't happen."
Price will get an opportunity to test himself against Premier League opposition on Wednesday night when West Brom travel to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup second round.
"All the lads are buzzing," he said. "They are the games you want to be drawn in, in the cup - to go and play away at a Premier League team and at a place where we can go and show our quality. I can't wait."
