'I've no doubt it'll come': Oran Kearney optimistic Sky Blues will return to winning ways

Ballymena United manager Oran Kearney says everyone at the club will continue to work hard as they aim to rediscover their magic touch in the BOYLE Sports Premiership.

The Braidmen have endured what Kearney described as a “frustrating” start to the new campaign after they have failed to back up their opening day victory at Linfield with another Premiership win.

Kearney’s boys played out a 1-1 draw against Carrick Rangers on home soil on Tuesday night as Igor Rutkowski’s opener was cancelled out by Aidan Steele’s equaliser as both teams had to settle for a share of the spoils at Warden Street.

However, the busy schedule continues on Saturday afternoon as United are the visitors to Dungannon Swifts and Kearney is hoping they can make a return to winning ways in a bid to start climbing the table.

He told the club’s social media channels: “We will keep working at it.

"We have a really good changing room in there and a lot of good people in there.

"There’s a lot of frustration in there too as the boys were devastated after Tuesday as they don’t go out to not play well or they don’t go out to not make the correct decisions or they don’t go out for them to get frustrated and everyone else.

"It’s one of those where they are working as hard as they can to try and get this up and running.

"We will keep working at it, there’s no issue with that, and I’ve no doubt it’ll come.”

After making a bright start to the season, the Swifts come into the encounter on the back of successive defeats to Linfield and Crusaders.

Boss Rodney McAree admits he has been impressed by Ballymena’s recruitment in the summer but hopes a return to their home patch will help them pick up a positive result.

"It’s our next game and one we look forward to at Stangmore Park,” he told Dungannon Swifts TV.

“It’s where we enjoy playing but we know it’s going to be a tough game.

"They’ve brought a lot of good players in, they’ve brought a lot of numbers in and it’ll be very different to a Ballymena team we’ve played before.

"We will look forward to it and try to get back at it.”
