Cliftonville confirm signing of Australian goalkeeper

Cliftonville have confirmed the signing of Australian goalkeeper Jacob Cremen-Cowan from Sydney FC.

The 20-year-old started his senior career at Sutherland in his homeland, making five appearances in the National Premier League - New South Wales before joining Sydney in 2025.

Sydney FC ply their trade in the A-League – the highest level in Australian football – with Cremen-Cowan playing four league matches for their reserves.

Cliftonville have previously looked to Australia for talent with Alex Parsons joining the Reds from Brisbane Roar in 2025 – the 26-year-old scored three goals in 14 Premiership appearances and featured in an Irish Cup final before returning Down Under.

Confirming Cremen-Cowan’s arrival, Cliftonville posted: “Cliftonville Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jacob Cremen-Cowan.

“The 20-year-old was most recently with Sydney FC in his native Australia and his arrival adds additional quality to the Reds’ goalkeeping department.

“Formerly with Sutherland Sharks, Jacob has been training with Jim Magilton’s squad for the last few weeks and is today unveiled as our ninth new recruit of the season. Welcome to Solitude, Jacob.”
