Kris Lindsay leaves Dungannon Swifts by mutual consent

Kris Lindsay has left Dungannon Swifts by mutual consent the club have confirmed.

Lindsay replaced Rodney McAree at Stangmore Park in September 2018 for his first management job.

The former Linfield player led the Swifts to a ninth placed finish last season before the season was curtailed due to the Covid pandemic.

Lindsay signed a new two-year extension to his contract in April last year but Dungannon have struggled to find wins so far this term.

The currently sit bottom of the Danske Bank Premiership on 12 points with only three wins this season.

In a statement the club took the opportunity to publicly thank Lindsay for the commitment and desire he showed during his time in charge at Stangmore.

“Kris has been a pleasure to work with over the last couple of years," Chairman, Keith Boyd said.

"I’m disappointed it hasn’t worked out with him for the long term with Dungannon Swifts.

"I’ve made a friend in football with Kris and we would welcome him back to Stangmore Park at any time. I wish him well for the future.”

Head of Youth Development, Dixie Robinson, will take over the reigns from Lindsay on an interim basis, until the end of season.
