Former Glens goalkeeper Devine spent just over two years in the role, reaching two consecutive BetMcLean Cup finals – both ended in extra-time defeats – and won a Co Antrim Shield in January 2025.
Glentoran finished third in both of Devine’s two Premiership seasons, but improved significantly last term, winning six more games and collecting 16 more points across 2025/26 compared to the previous campaign.
They were in Gibson Cup contention until the Irish League’s final day – the Glens were beaten 6-2 by Coleraine while Larne sealed a third title in four seasons by beating Dungannon Swifts.
The Oval outfit have endured a torrid start to the current season, winning just two of their first six league matches - a run which has left them sitting eighth in Northern Ireland’s top-flight.
With Devine departing, here’s a list of some potential candidates Ali Pour and the club’s board could be looking at.

1. Tiernan Lynch
The seemingly most obvious candidate, Tiernan Lynch won two Premiership titles as Larne boss and masterminded the club's transformation into an Irish League powerhouse. He's currently available after exiting Derry City, where he guided the League of Ireland club to a second-placed Premier Division finish in 2025 before a poor 2026 campaign. Lynch previously served as a Glentoran senior coach between 2012 and 2016 before taking on the Larne job. His appointment would tick a lot of boxes. Photo: ©INPHO/PressEye.com/Jonathan Porter

2. Ian Baraclough
Former Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough was linked with the Glentoran job after Warren Feeney's departure. He currently serves as Sporting Director at Scottish club Partick Thistle and hasn't held a managerial role since leaving Northern Ireland in 2022 - his previous experience includes spells at Scunthorpe United, Sligo Rovers, Motherwell and Northern Ireland's U21s. He praised the Irish League during his time in charge of the national team and also looked to the Premiership for talent, picking Conor McMenamin. Photo: ©INPHO/Presseye/Brian Little

3. Andy Kirk
Belfast-born Andy Kirk started his playing career as a prolific striker at Glentoran, firing them to an Irish League title in 1999, before joining Hearts. The former Northern Ireland international has since made a move into management and held roles at Hearts Women and Brechin City alongside serving as assistant at St Johnstone. Photo: Pacemaker Press

4. Andy Smith
Another with a Glentoran connection, Andy Smith (right) scored 31 goals in 64 league appearances for The Oval outfit - form which earned him a move to Preston in 2004. He returned to the Irish League to enjoy spells at Portadown, Ballymena United, Carrick Rangers and Crusaders. The 45-year-old started his coaching career in Portugal and was also an assistant at Port Vale. He has served as manager in Slovakia and Estonia, spending almost two years at FC Haka before leaving in 2025. Photo: Pacemaker
