Venue confirmed for Irish Cup semi-finals and final

“The Irish Football Association has announced that the final and semi-finals of this season’s Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup will be played at Mourneview Park in Lurgan,” confirmed the Irish Football Association statement. “The switch of venue for the high-profile cup matches to the home of Glenavon FC will help to facilitate pitch renovation work at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park, ahead of hosting the UEFA Super Cup Final in August.

“Both semi-finals in this season’s Irish Cup are due to be played in Lurgan on Tuesday 18 May.

“The first match will kick-off at 4pm followed by the second at 8pm.

“And both games will be shown live on television – on BBC 2 Northern Ireland.

“Mourneview Park, which is the standby ground for Northern Ireland senior men’s international matches, will then host the showpiece final on Friday 21 May (7.45pm kick-off).

“Again the game will be shown live on BBC 2 Northern Ireland.

“Round 2 (last 16) of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious cup competition has been penciled in for Saturday 8 May followed by the quarter-finals on Tuesday 11 May, the semi-finals on 18 May and the final on 21 May.

“Protocols have been drawn up to ensure the Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup can take place safely with all arrangements subject to change depending on any further government guidance.”
