'We are confident' - Ivor Pandur targets a repeat after memorable Old Firm experience
Ivor Pandur is looking for a repeat performance in Rangers’ rematch with Celtic on Sunday.
The Gers goalkeeper had a relatively quiet afternoon last Sunday when the Light Blues booked their place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals with a convincing 3-0 win over their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox.
The two sides meet again in the William Hill Premiership at Celtic Park on Sunday – the Hoops take a five-point lead over the Light Blues into the game – and the 26-year-old Croatian stopper, who signed on a four-year deal from Hull in the summer, said:
“We are confident. I think we did a really good job last Sunday and we just want to repeat that.

“Obviously we had a week to prepare to see what we can improve on, do better.
“But the performance was good and we want to do the same.
“The experience was really good. Obviously, people can tell you but when you step on the pitch and you hear the sound and feel the energy, it’s something different to what I have experienced in my life.
“So, I am truly grateful that I was able to experience that.”
The obvious difference between the two fixtures centres around the fans.
Due to a ticket allocation spat between the two Glasgow giants which saw the authorities step in, there were only Gers supporters inside Ibrox last week.
This Sunday, there will only be Hoops fans in the 60,000-capacity Celtic Park.
Pandur said: “It’s different – it’s their stadium, their fans.
“But it’s still a game of football and we know they will have seen what they did wrong and try to do things better this time.
“We need to be ready for that and it’s why we have put in the work.
“We just need to think about ourselves, do our best and see where that takes us.
“It’s big. We obviously know the games against Celtic are the biggest – you have the most to win and the most to lose.
“But every game for us is equally important because it’s three points.
“Even against St Mirren or Motherwell, those were tough games, we managed to win.
“We want to win, we give our best and everyone is here to win trophies.
“We know that’s our goal, our ambition, we will do everything we can.”
While Rangers had a week to prepare for the game, Celtic are coming off the back of a bruising 3-1 defeat to Hungarian side Ferencvaros in their Europa League opener at Parkhead on Thursday night.
Pandur is not reading into another adverse result for Celtic and their fans.
He said: “I think they play at home and the fans will be behind them, give them energy.
“They will go for it like we will do. They will try to win, we will try to win.
“I don’t think this (defeat) will have much of an influence, in my opinion, obviously it’s a loss.
“They play for Celtic, we play for Rangers and we try to win.”
