The Belmont player has again battled his way through the the final of the tournament - he will face his Ireland colleague Alistair Coleman in the showcase decider at Forth River Bowls Club on Saturday.

Although Ballymena’s Coleman will be looking to parade the coveted prize for the first time, McPeak has the chance of joining an exclusive band of players who have racked up a hat-trick of wins.

Both were in excellent form in their respective semi final games with McPeak defeating Salisbury’s Gary Eaton junior (21-10), while in what could well be an unique occasion, Alistair edged out his dad Stephen Coleman (21-14).

However, because of his past experiences in the final, the pendulum swings slightly in favour of McPeak, who lifted the trophy for the first time in 2005 before repeating the feat five years later.

There is member of the Coleman family involved in the final of the Youth singles. Aaron will face Mossley’s Adam McKeown in a battle of the young guns. Just to make it a full house, Ballymena will also be represented in the final of the Under-25 singles as Stephen Shields will go in against Darren Atkinson (Belmont) in what should be a cracking contest.

Big Michael Nutt has his sights set on double glory as he will contest the pairs and fours disciplines. He is joined by Stephen Kirkwood in the latter - the Old Bleach boys will face either Ryan Bell’s Mossley or Marty Trainor (Dunbarton) in the final. And, in the fours, Sam Barkley, Tommy Rainey, Johnny Millar and Nutt undertake a massive test against the Belmont combination, Simon Cavan, Robin Horner, Stephen Martin and Stuart Bennett.

Meanwhile, there will be a familiar look to the NIBA Championships when the Carrickfergus club host the finals on Saturday.

Marty McHugh is back to defend his singles title in an all-Whitehead battle against Stephen McKinley. The Ireland international will also contest the triples against Bangor's Robert Hastings.
