Classic TT: Mike Browne leads Lightweight times on Laycock Racing Yamaha with Michael Dunlop fourth in opening session on Padgett's Honda RS250
Mike Browne topped the Lightweight times in opening qualifying at the Classic TT on Wednesday.
The organisers opted to use the afternoon contingency after Monday evening’s qualifying sessions were cancelled because of wet weather.
Tuesday evening’s session was also cut short after a fatal red flag incident and limited time remaining within the schedule.
Cork man Browne lapped at 116.639mph after completing two standing start laps on the Laycock Racing 250 Yamaha.

Browne was 46.826s ahead of Stuart Hall (Whippet Racing 250 Yamaha), who clocked 112.13mph on a flying lap.
Hall was later reported to have crashed at Laurel Bank. He was taken to Noble’s Hospital and was described as conscious and talking.
Magherafelt’s Paul Jordan, team-mates with Browne on the second Laycock Racing Yamaha, was third fastest at 112.125mph.
Last year’s race winner Michael Dunlop was last away in the session on the Milenco by Padgett’s RS250 Honda and slotted into fourth on the times at 111.875mph after a single lap.
Czech rider Michal Dokoupil (Cookson Travel 250 Yamaha) and Ryan Whitehall (Yellow House/DB Moto 250 Yamaha) completed the top six, lapping at 109.539mph and 108.25mph respectively.
