Former Classic racing world champion Glen English in Manx Grand Prix return
Former Classic Bike world champion Glen English will compete at the Manx Grand Prix this month in the Junior and Senior races around the Mountain Course on the Isle of Man.
English, a past winner at the Manx GP in the Classic Senior race in 2000, will ride a 500cc Manx Norton for the Melbray London/Watch Vault/The Shed team in the Classic Senior race and a 350cc Honda K4 in the Classic Junior event.
The Cornish rider has an impressive record on the island at both the TT and Manx GP after making his debut around the 37.73-mile course in 1990.
English claimed a best TT result of third in the 125cc Ultra-Lightweight race in 1996 behind Ulsterman Joey Dunlop and Gavin Lee, finishing fourth in the same race the following year.

His results during a decade of TT racing included top 20 finishes in the Lightweight 250cc and Supersport 400cc races.
His best lap of 111.80mph was set in the 1995 Senior TT, which was won by road racing legend Dunlop.
English raced regularly on the Classic scene from the late 1990s and his win in the 2000 Classic Senior MGP on a 500cc Molnar Norton was a particular highlight, when he beat Bill Swallow by almost 15 seconds following a fastest lap in excess of 106mph.
In 2003, he clinched the FIM World Classic title and later added British titles in the Classic 350cc and 500cc and Supermono categories.
Practice for the Manx GP is scheduled to commence on Sunday, August 18, culminating with the Classic Superbike race on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.
