Scarborough Gold Cup: Honda Racing's Dean Harrison bags Supersport hat-trick at Oliver's Mount

Dean Harrison wrapped up a Supersport hat-trick at the 80th anniversary Scarborough Gold Cup races at Oliver’s Mount on Sunday.

Harrison (Honda Racing) beat Peter Hickman (Swan Racing by PHR Performance Triumph) by 3.447s after eight laps in Sunday’s opening Supersport race for his 115th victory at England’s only road race.

Hickman grabbed the lead and led until the halfway mark before Harrison eventually found a way past at the hairpin.

Cork man Mike Browne completed the podium places on the BPE by Russell Racing Yamaha, around 3.2s further behind.

British Supersport contender Harrison doubled up in Saturday’s races at the 2.43-mile woodland course, when he twice beat Hickman by more than 12 seconds on his return to Oliver’s Mount after a three-year absence.

The Yorkshireman, who now lives in Ballaugh on the Isle of Man, has been in excellent form in 2026, with Harrison winning the Superbike and Senior races at the TT and dominating at the Southern 100 at Billown in July.

Tom Weeden finished fourth in Sunday’s Supersport opener on the Club 77 Triumph ahead of Davey Todd (PHR Performance Triumph).

Todd is making his racing comeback after a six-month layoff following a crash in March at the Daytona 200 in the USA. His injuries included two broken legs and the 30-year-old missed the North West 200 and TT as a result.

The three-time TT winner finished ninth in the opening Supersport race of the weekend on Saturday and fifth in the second outing.

Joey Thompson (TH Racing Honda) completed the top six in Sunday’s race ahead of Rob Hodson (SMT Racing Ducati) and Scotsman Johnny Stewart in eighth, who made history in August with the first Manx Grand Prix four-timer.

Thompson (RH Racing Aprilia) took the win in Sunday’s first Supertwin race ahead of Hodson (SMT Racing Paton) and Hickman (Swan Racing/PHR Performance Triumph).

Weeden won the Classic Superbike race from Thompson and Barry Furber.

The 80th anniversary Gold Cup races headlines the final day of the meeting on Sunday afternoon.
