Dunmurry songbird collaborates on album

Singer Arianna Morgan, who grew up in Dunmurry, is featuring on a brand new album which is helping to raise funds for the NHS.

The 19-year-old, whose grandmother still lives in Dunmurry, is a former pupil of Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School who recorded her first song after being discovered by a music producer in London at the age of 10 when she was singing at a charity event.

Arianna’s version of Songbird reached number 8 in the UK charts and over the years her career has gone from strength to strength,

The local songbird has also helped to raise over £500.000 for different charities throughout the UK through her singing and she was delighted to be part of the new album Sunshine and Rain by Jethro ‘Alonestar’ Sheeran, cousin of Ed Sheeran, who also features on the album.

Arianna’s song, entitled ‘Party’, is a real summer anthem which she hopes will have the people dancing the night away.

“I had a grand time collaborating on the song ‘Party’,” said Arianna. “I’m very grateful to be a feature on such a cool album.

“It was nice to get back into the studio and to work with such creative minds like Jethro and producer Herbert Skillz.

“The album overall has summer vibes with tracks that have a fun hip hop/afrobeat feel to them. I think people will really enjoy it.”

Talking about the album and his collaboration with Arianna, Jethro said: “I’m so excited for this release. A collaboration between Sheeran music, Urban Angel and Contractor music group and Stargazer Music Magazine. I’ve been working on it for two years with Herbert Skillz and finally it’s ready for release. I’m extremely proud of the first single ‘Raise em up’ (remix) featuring my cousin Ed Sheeran and Trunkie. I’m very proud of all my features Akon, Kojo Rigault, Kayla, Arianna, Big Kaka and Wayne Wonder. It’s a fantastic piece of work.”

Arianna and Jethro are hoping to perform in support of the album in Belfast as soon as they can.

Sunshine and Rain is available to download on iTunes, with 10% being donated to the NHS.
