Belfast health club contributes to record year for UK fitness group
A health club in Belfast is celebrating a strong year after its parent company, the Bannatyne Group, reported record turnover and earnings.
The Belfast club in Holywood is part of a UK-wide network of 67 Bannatyne Health Clubs, with the group posting earnings of £43.7m for the year ending December 2025 and turnover rising to £158m.

Membership levels remained robust across the business, reaching 219,743, reflecting continued demand for health, fitness and wellbeing services.
Founder and executive chairman Duncan Bannatyne said the results had been achieved despite a challenging economic backdrop.
He said: “Nearly 3,000 staff throughout the UK have worked together to maintain a growing business, delivering popular services to a large cohort of loyal members.”
The group has continued to invest in its facilities, including the introduction of new padel courts, with further developments planned across multiple locations in 2026.
Alongside investment in new products, Bannatyne has also focused on developing its workforce through a sector-leading apprenticeship programme, supporting long-term career progression.
Mr Bannatyne added that rising employer costs and energy prices had created additional pressures, but the business remained focused on sustainable growth and delivering value to members.
