Dog friendly ‘Barket’ returns to The Junction, Antrim this Saturday
A major celebration of pets and the people who love them returns to Antrim this Saturday, with thousands of visitors and their four-legged companions expected at The Junction Retail & Leisure Park.

Barket takes place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 4 July, bringing together more than 50 independent stalls and exhibitors alongside expert talks, live demonstrations, specialist pet services, entertainment and food.

Families will also be able to enjoy special appearances from Bluey, PAW Patrol and Sonic the Hedgehog throughout the day.
Now in its third year at The Junction, the event has become a firm favourite among pet owners, with visitors travelling from across the country to discover new products, meet animal charities and enjoy a packed programme of activities.

Chris Flynn, Centre Director at The Junction, said: “This is the third year of hosting Barket at The Junction, and it’s always one of our most heart-warming and fun-filled events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, celebrate the bond between people and their pets, and raise support for some incredible animal charities and sanctuaries.”
Part specialist market and part live pet event, Barket offers a full day of shopping, advice, demonstrations & activities for pets and their people. More than 50 independent traders will be showcasing pet food, gourmet treats, eco-friendly toys, bespoke collars, wellness products, accessories and handmade goods. Returning favourites including The Woofternoon Tea Co, Murphy & Bailey, The Suddy Dog and Haus of Hank will be joined by a wide range of pet businesses, makers and specialist exhibitors.
Thomas Ferris, Managing Director at Urban Events, said: “Barket is one of our favourite events of the year, it is a high-energy day that showcases the amazing pet products, expertise and services available locally. There is always a brilliant atmosphere, and whether you are looking to shop, learn something new or simply enjoy a day out with your pet, there is plenty to discover.”
This year’s event will introduce a practical Dog First Aid training led by experienced veterinary surgeon Eimear Gillespie MRCVS. Designed for dog owners and animal lovers, the course will cover essential emergency skills including CPR, bandaging and checking a dog’s vital signs. Places must be booked in advance. Daisy Dog Academy will also join the Barket programme, hosting free expert talks on subjects including mantrailing, how dogs use their sense of smell and trick workshop. The talks will sit alongside live agility and scent-detection demonstrations from local canine specialists The Nose Zone and Whitestone K9, and local Crufts Rally Team.
Claire McConaghy, The Pet Nurse, will offer a range of practical pet-care services throughout the event, including nail trimming, microchipping, identification checks and ear cleaning. Visitors can also create a lasting souvenir of their day, with The Doggy Photo Studio offering pet photography and the Paw Print Clay Workshop creating personalised paw-print keepsakes.
A shaded calm area with drinking water will also be available for dogs that need a break from the activity.
