From Slane Castle to Las Vegas: How Oasis fans can turn Live ’27 into the holiday of a lifetime

Oasis are returning to Ireland in 2027 for two huge shows at the legendary Slane Castle, and for Northern Irish fans, the gigs are practically on the doorstep.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will take to the stage at the iconic Co. Meath venue on September 4 and 5 as part of Oasis Live ’27, which will see the band play shows across Europe, the US and Ireland.

And Slane Castle is only around an hour and a half's drive from Belfast in normal traffic, making it one of the most accessible dates on the tour for Northern Irish fans. Of course, anyone travelling on concert day should allow considerably longer, with thousands of fans expected to descend on the venue.

For those who don't fancy driving, coach options from Belfast also make it possible to leave the car at home.

But Slane could be just the beginning.

With Oasis also heading to destinations including Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Boston and Las Vegas, fans who fancy seeing Liam and Noel more than once could turn a second concert into a "gig-cation", combining Oasis with everything from a European city break to a bucket-list American road trip.

Travel experts at eShores, which specialises in tailor-made multi-centre holidays, say fans should look beyond simply travelling into a destination for the concert and heading home the following morning.

Instead, an Oasis ticket could become the starting point for a much bigger adventure.

Slane Castle: around 1.5 hours from Belfast

For Oasis fans in Northern Ireland, the two Slane Castle shows on September 4 and 5 are the obvious place to start.

The famous Co. Meath venue is around an hour and a half's drive from Belfast in normal traffic, so fans don't have to jump on a plane to catch Liam and Noel on the Live ’27 tour.

Concert-day traffic will inevitably add to journey times, however, so anyone driving should leave plenty of extra time.

For those who would rather not get behind the wheel, coach options from Belfast provide another way to make the journey south.

The historic outdoor venue also has a special place in Oasis history, making their return more than just another stop on the tour.

And for Northern Irish devotees determined to make the most of Live ’27, Slane could be the home leg before choosing a second show somewhere further afield.

Paris, Rome and Barcelona offer the chance to combine Oasis with a European holiday, while anyone prepared to cross the Atlantic could turn a Boston or Las Vegas show into a much bigger American adventure.

Paris: turn Oasis into a French escape

Paris is one of the easiest European Oasis destinations to build into a short holiday.

Spend a few days exploring Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the banks of the Seine around the concert before travelling onwards.

Those looking for food and wine could add Bordeaux, while fans who want some sunshine after the gig could head south to Nice and the French Riviera.

Instead of travelling for one concert and immediately heading home, an Oasis ticket could become the starting point for a week-long French adventure.

Rome: follow Oasis with the Amalfi Coast

Rome might be one of the most tempting destinations on the tour.

Fans can spend a few days exploring the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City, with plenty of pizza, pasta and aperitivo stops around the Oasis show.

But don't stop there.

Italy's rail network makes it easy to continue to Florence, while those with more time could add Venice.

Alternatively, travel south towards Naples and Pompeii before finishing with a few days around the Amalfi Coast.

A huge Oasis concert followed by several days beside the Mediterranean isn't a bad way to spend a holiday.

And rather than flying all the way to Rome for one night and heading straight back home, you've suddenly turned a concert into a proper Italian adventure.

Barcelona: go from the gig to the beach

Barcelona already has everything needed for a great city break.

There is Gaudí's architecture, the Gothic Quarter, tapas, nightlife and, crucially after a big night watching Oasis, a beach.

But fans can also use Barcelona as the first stop on a longer Spanish holiday.

After the concert, head towards the Costa Brava for a few quieter days beside the sea or add Madrid or Valencia for a two-city Spanish break.

For Northern Irish fans hoping to combine Oasis with some sunshine, it could be one of the most appealing dates of the tour.

It also means getting two very different experiences from one trip, with a huge Oasis concert followed by a few lazy days beside the Mediterranean.

Las Vegas: Oasis meets the ultimate American road trip

Then there is Las Vegas.

Oasis are playing three nights at Allegiant Stadium, and for anyone considering travelling all the way from Northern Ireland to see them, it makes sense to turn the journey into something much bigger.

Spend a few nights experiencing the madness of Las Vegas and seeing Oasis before travelling onwards to Los Angeles.

From LA, fans could continue along the California coast towards San Francisco, turning the concert into a bucket-list American road trip.

Alternatively, go in a completely different direction and combine Vegas with the Grand Canyon and some of the spectacular landscapes of America's Southwest.

It's certainly a bigger undertaking than making the journey from Belfast to Slane, but if you're already paying to cross the Atlantic, it makes sense to see more while you're there.

And it could become the holiday you remember long after the final song.

Boston: see Oasis, then head to New York

Boston offers another opportunity to turn Oasis into a two-city US adventure.

Fans can spend a few nights discovering the city's historic neighbourhoods, waterfront and food scene before seeing Liam and Noel on stage.

Then, rather than immediately flying home, continue to New York.

Boston and New York are well connected, allowing fans to experience two very different American cities during the same holiday.

You could see Oasis in Boston and finish the holiday with several nights in Manhattan before flying back home.

If you've already paid to cross the Atlantic, adding a few extra days can make far more sense than turning around and heading straight home.

Don't book an early flight home after Oasis

One mistake fans should avoid is trying to save money or annual leave by booking the earliest possible journey home the morning after the concert.

Gavin Lapidus, Company Director at eShores, says fans lucky enough to secure tickets abroad should look at the concert destination as the beginning of their holiday rather than the whole trip.

“If you're lucky enough to get an Oasis ticket abroad, it is worth looking at the destination as the starting point for your holiday rather than somewhere you're simply flying into for the concert.

“One of the advantages of a multi-centre trip is that you're already paying to travel to that country, so adding another city or destination can help you get much more out of the journey.

“For example, someone travelling to Rome could add Florence or the Amalfi Coast, while a fan flying all the way to Las Vegas could turn the trip into a much bigger USA holiday rather than travelling thousands of miles for one concert.

“We'd also advise fans not to automatically book their return flight for the morning after the show. Concerts can finish late, transport will be busy and you don't want to spend the entire evening worrying about getting up for an early flight.

“Building a few extra days around the concert gives you more flexibility and turns what could be a rushed gig trip into a proper holiday.”

Book the gig first, then build the holiday around it

There is one important rule with a gig-cation: secure the concert ticket before getting carried away booking hotels and flights.

Once you've got the date, look at the wider destination rather than automatically searching for a return journey the following morning.

Sometimes an extra night can make the trip considerably less stressful. Other times, adding a train journey or internal flight can unlock somewhere you've always wanted to visit.

And if you're travelling long-haul to America, the argument for staying longer becomes even stronger.

For Northern Irish Oasis fans, Slane Castle is likely to be the big date in the diary. At around an hour and a half's drive from Belfast in normal traffic, it's an opportunity to see Liam and Noel without having to fly overseas.

But for those who have waited years for the Gallagher brothers to reunite and fancy making 2027 the year of Oasis, Slane doesn't necessarily have to be the only adventure.

See them at Slane, then choose a second show somewhere you've always wanted to visit.

Paris for a long weekend, Rome and the Amalfi Coast, Barcelona and the beach or Las Vegas followed by an American road trip could turn another Oasis ticket into something much bigger.

After all, if you've spent years waiting for Oasis to get back together, you might as well make a holiday of it.
