The important work by NI Life Beyond Dementia is going to be made possible thanks to a £1,000 donation from Northern Ireland’s leading energy provider – Power NI.

Awarded through Power NI’s Brighter Communities initiative, the funding is going to cover the cost of adapted football equipment and archery resources, boccia sets and arts and crafts materials – assets that will allow the charity to expand its activities and create more opportunities for people living with dementia to enjoy meaningful experiences.

The donation will also support the purchase of display and awareness materials for use at community events, exhibitions and conferences, helping the organisation challenge stigma and promote greater understanding of life after a dementia diagnosis.

Founded by Anne Scott, NI Life Beyond Dementia helps people living with dementia reconnect with community life, rebuild confidence and focus on what they can still achieve. Through sport, creative activities and social engagement, the charity works to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and support participants and their families.

“NI Life Beyond Dementia creates welcoming opportunities for people with early- to mid-stage dementia and their families to reconnect with their communities through sport, arts and shared activities,” explained Anne.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Power NI for this Brighter Communities award as the funding will help us provide meaningful experiences that build confidence, foster connections, and bring enjoyment to those taking part.

“It will also help us raise awareness of what is possible after a dementia diagnosis and the importance of creating inclusive, supportive communities. We are grateful for this support and the difference it will make for our members and the wider community.”

Ashleigh O’Neill – Power NI’s Senior Marketing & Communications Executive – added: “At Power NI, we’re proud to support organisations that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and help build stronger, more inclusive communities.

“NI Life Beyond Dementia is doing incredible work to ensure that people living with dementia can continue to enjoy activities, social connection, and a sense of belonging.

“Through our Brighter Communities initiative, we are delighted to support its efforts to promote confidence and wellbeing, while helping to challenge perceptions of what life with dementia can look like.”

The NI Life Beyond Dementia donation reflects Power NI’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations that improve lives, strengthen communities and create a lasting positive impact throughout Northern Ireland.
