World renowned designers alongside emerging local artisans have come together to form a collective of over 3,500 talented makers to headline this year’s celebration.

Hundreds of events and workshops have already taken place right across the island of Ireland, but there are still some key dates remaining before the curtain comes down on the annual August Craft Month.

It’s the fifth year in its all-island format, as Craft NI and Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) partner to deliver events celebrating over 25 different disciplines.

Together with the showcasing of artisan and traditional heritage and contemporary skills, August Craft Month provides a perfect platform for the public to find out about craftspeople and makers, either in their local area or in another county and to support them through purchasing their work.

August Craft Month remaining events/dates include:

Scots Irish/Ulster Scots Heritage Ring Making Experience

· As part of the America250 celebrations too, NI Silver are offering a 1776 ring making workshop where guests can come to create their heritage memory ring.  It’s perfect for those who are into history and ancestry as they will hear stories of Ulster Scots/Scots Irish who left our shores to set up home in the United States.  As part of this workshop, we have  some specially curated Paula McIntyre/NI Silver cocktails and mocktails, using whiskey from our friends at McConnell’s and Strangford Lough alcohol free gin, so something for everyone, even if you’re driving!

Private Claddagh Ring Making Experience

· No experience required, simply come and spend a relaxing couple of hours with your party only, creating Irish love rings. Our very small group, only two people, creates for a more relaxing experience for just you and your other.
