Workers Party Representative Fiona McCarthy has condemned the threat to Housing Executive Staff and the Racist graffiti that has appeared in Rathcoole area.

Ms McCarthy said it is shameful that workers have been called targets for nothing more than carrying out their duties as public service employees and should be allowed to work free from all forms of harassment and intimidation. The local Housing Executive office which is a much needed facility should not be subjected to vile threats and vandalism of this nature.

Workers should never be issued with threats they should be able to carry out their duties free from all forms of harassment.placeholder image

The Racist graffiti that appeared on a local shop is disgraceful and must be condemned by all right thinking people within the area. All those slogans and vile messages against foreigners not being welcome must be called out by our local politicians and community leaders. It is chilling that a local paramilitary group is quite possibly using children as young as 13 year old to carry out these despicable hate crimes, those responsible for inciting these acts must be investigated and prosecuted without delay. There should be no room in our society for these hate crimes.
