Pennies for Promise is a UK Payroll Giving scheme adopted by FinTrU which allows employees to make a charity donation directly from their net pay.

Staff at FinTrU, which employs over 600 people across four offices in Belfast and Londonderry, have agreed for their net pay to be rounded down to the nearest pound, and for those excess pennies to then be donated to the company charity partners.

FinTrU Chief of Staff, Katrien Roppe, said: “Our charity partners, like many organisations, have been dealt a blow to their fundraising streams this year due to Covid-19, lockdown and the social distancing measures.

“At FinTrU, we regularly support fundraising events in the office including bake sales, dress down days and other internal events. Since we moved to working from home in March, these opportunities have been limited so we have introduced this method to enable regular fundraising for PIPS and Kinship Care NI.”

FinTrU employees will also have the opportunity to donate a greater amount to charity should they wish via the GiveAll2Charity scheme. This allows employees to nominate an amount to be donated to our charity partners every month.

Katrien Roppe continued: “The services provided by PIPS and Kinship Care NI are so critical in the current climate, therefore FinTrU has decided to match all donations made by FinTrU employees through both Payroll Giving schemes.“
