Hunting Association Hound Show
There was an excellent attendance with 11 Foxhound packs and four Beagle packs from North and South taking advantage of the convenient cross border location.
Compliments must be extended to the huntsmen whose hounds were of a superb standard and equally to the Judges (Foxhounds: Major Tim Easby. Director of Hunting. G.B. and Mr Andrew Osborne MFH. Cottesmore Foxhounds. Beagles: Mr Robert Hutchinson MFB, Westmeath Beagles and Mr Townley Angel, Co Louth Foxhounds) whose dilemma it was to chose between.

Hide AdCongratulations to the South Tyrone who won the overall Championship with ‘Hardy’ and to the Meath who took the Reserve with ‘Mabel’. In the Beagles an equally strong showing resulted in the Armagh & Richhill’s ‘Layman’ taking champion dog and Mr Kerr claiming the Champion bitch with ‘Penny’ – the Sunnylands taking both reserves with ‘Islander’ and ‘Gentle’ respectively. HANI would like to extend their thanks to everyone who made this such a successful show – the competitors, stewards, caterers, and all those behind the scenes preparing beforehand and cleaning up afterwards – but mostly to the farmers without whom hunting would not happen.
