Leckey gets Platinum Level Innovator Status

Innovate NI is a Department for the Economy programme, helping local businesses innovate successfully. It is delivered by Invest Northern Ireland, local councils and further education colleges. Platinum is the highest achievable accolade awarded through the programme.

The award recognises how Leckey, through its cutting-edge products and strategy, has created value for its business.

On receiving the award, Ben Stocks, Managing Director at Leckey, said: “We are delighted to receive this award and I would like to thank our tremendous team who embody the spirit of innovation.

“At Leckey we are passionate about leading through innovation and clinical focus to create products that make a real difference to the quality of life for children with special needs and their families.

“I am immensely proud of what everyone has worked so hard together to achieve. It’s a great way to start 2021 which promises to be another exciting year for the company, with ground-breaking product launches in the pipeline.”

Established in 1983, Leckey is a globally recognised pioneer in the research, design and development of clinically focused, paediatric postural management equipment. The company, based in Northern Ireland, employs almost 180 people and distributes an extensive and innovative portfolio of seating, standing, walking and Firefly products worldwide.

Congratulating the company, Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI’s Director of Innovation, Research & Development added: “Leckey is a highly innovative company which has benefitted from Invest NI support for R&D to develop and bring to market revolutionary products which are making a genuine difference to the lives of children with special needs around the world. It is great to see the company’s hardwork, effort and determination being recognised through this Platinum Level award. We want Northern Ireland to be one of the most innovative regions in the UK and it is companies such as Leckey that will help us achieve this goal. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the company as it continues to excel.”
