New £10,000 Covid payment scheme for NI travel agents

Travel agents are the latest group of business owners to be offered a Covid financial support package from the NI Executive.

A new one-off grant of £10,000 will be available to travel agents operating from commercial premises, while a £3,500 payment will be made to those self-employed agents working from home in Northern Ireland.

Agents with more than one premises may apply for a separate payment for each.

The scheme closes on March 26 at 5pm, with all supporting evidence to be provided by 5pm on March 28.

First Minister Arlene Foster said: “I would urge all eligible businesses to make sure their application is submitted before the set deadline.”

Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill said: “This scheme will help alleviate the financial pressures being felt by travel agents as a result of the pandemic.”
