ubloquity has teamed up with pharmaceutical logistics specialist Trans-Bridge Freight Services Ltd to deploy its digital logistics platform, ubiNex, across the company's cold-chain operations.

The collaboration is designed to improve visibility, compliance and security in one of the world's most heavily regulated logistics sectors, where maintaining strict temperature controls and detailed audit trails is critical to ensuring product safety and efficacy.

The move comes as pharmaceutical distributors face increasing regulatory requirements when transporting goods across the Irish Sea, including compliance obligations arising from the Windsor Framework.

Under the partnership, Trans-Bridge will use the ubiNex platform to bring together previously separate sources of logistics data, including temperature monitoring, GPS tracking, consignment authentication and documentation, into a single real-time digital system.

The platform creates a tamper-evident digital record for every shipment, enabling authorised stakeholders to access trusted information throughout the supply chain while helping reduce delays, streamline administration and improve compliance.

Kieran Kelly, chief executive of ubloquity, said the partnership demonstrates how technology can address some of the most complex challenges facing modern supply chains.

"Digital infrastructure can solve some of the most complex challenges in global supply chains," he said.

"By bringing together authentication, real-time tracking and compliance into a single platform, we're enabling Trans-Bridge to move critical pharmaceutical products with greater certainty, transparency and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance."

Brian Anderton, director at Trans-Bridge Freight Services Ltd, said: “As a key player in the pharmaceutical logistics sphere, particularly between GB and the Island of Ireland, we have five key pillars of responsibility to our pharma and healthcare clients: regulatory compliance, product efficacy, patient safety, ESG and security.

“The ubiNex platform supports our operation in all these responsibilities by combining hi-tech security, temperature visibility, GPS traceability and document control in one centralised dashboard. Visibility to all trusted parties in our network gives immediate access to trusted information, reducing delays and assuring the highest compliance.”

According to the companies, the platform has already helped strengthen cold-chain assurance, improve supply chain transparency, reduce border delays and provide regulator-ready audit data on demand.

The deployment forms part of ubloquity's wider Secure Freight initiative, which has supported more than 1,700 cross-border journeys and facilitated the movement of goods worth more than £180 million.
