SSE Airtricity fully acquires Fusion Heating

SSE Airtricity, Northern Ireland's second largest energy provider, has completed the acquisition of leading energy services contractor Fusion Heating Ltd. SSE Airtricity previously acquired a 50% stake in the firm in late 2016.

Fusion Heating, based in Castlereagh, Co Down, was established in 2006 and employs around 80 people, including gas engineers, plumbers, electricians and joiners.

The business works with private and public sector customers to install, service and repair central heating systems, as well as offering full domestic electrical contracting services, and fitting out bathrooms. The company’s customers include two of Northern Ireland’s largest housing associations, Choice Housing and Radius Housing, and gas network operator Phoenix Natural Gas.

Fusion Heating has partnered with SSE Airtricity since 2013, playing a major role in the growth of the company’s SSE Airtricity Energy Services business, which provides boiler services, repairs and replacements to homes and businesses across Northern Ireland.

As part of the SSE Airtricity group, the firm will continue to trade as Fusion Heating under the current management team.
