Cavan tragedy: Funeral for five members of Hawe family set for Saturday

The funeral will take place on Saturday for the Cavan family of five who died in a suspected murder-suicide.

Alan and Clodagh Hawe and their sons Liam, 13, Niall, 11 and Ryan, six, were found in their home near Ballyjamesduff on Monday.

A note was also found on the back door when a relative called to visit. It told visitors not to enter the house but to call police.

Father Felim Kelly, curate in the parish of Castlerahan and Munterconnaught, said that the remains of all five family members will be at Finnegans Funeral Home in Cavan Town from 3.00-8.00pm on Friday.

He will celebrate Requiem Mass on Saturday at 4.00pm in Saint Mary’s Church, Castlerahan and burial will take place after Mass in the local cemetery beside the church.

Inside the church is reserved for family, loved ones and parishioners only.
