Call for removal of 'paramilitary graffiti' on Mid Ulster road signs

A DUP Mid Ulster councillor has condemned paramilitary graffiti on street and directional signs outside Moneymore.

Responding to reports that a number of signs had been vandalised with republican slogans, Councillor Wesley Brown expressed disappointment that “this mindless vandalism still continues.”

Councillor Brown said: “Vandalism of any type is unacceptable and does not reflect the perspective of the local people.”

He said that he has contacted the Department for Infrastructure and Mid Ulster District Council to have the graffiti removed.

“I have requested that this unwanted graffiti be removed as soon as possible,” he stressed.
