Gang and male walking Boxer beat teen off bike before stealing it along with iPhone

A gang of young people, one of whom had a Boxer, threw a 15 year-old boy off his bicycle before stealing it along with an iPhone on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the Limestone Road area of North Belfast on Sunday evening.

Inspector McCullough said the attack began when a male with a Boxer approached the boy.

“Just after 6.35pm yesterday evening (Sunday May 10), police received a report that a 15 year old male, who had been cycling along the Limestone Road, was approached and attacked by a male dressed in grey, who was walking a boxer type dog.

“A number of other young people then joined the assault, with one hitting the 15 year old on the head causing a large cut, before throwing him from his bicycle, stealing it and also his iPhone 8," he said.

Inspector McCullough added: “This was an appalling attack carried out in broad daylight on a single young male by a group of people.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, which is also being treated as a hate crime, or who has seen the stolen, distinctive blue and white Carrera bicycle with black wheels, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1835 of 10 May 2020.”
