PSNI warning after young boy throws firework at police station
Police have issued a caution to a young boy who threw a firework at a police station in west Belfast on Thursday.
A police spokesman said: “Officers received the report shortly before 8pm in the New Barnsley Drive area of the city.

“It was reported that a young male approached the premises and lit a firework before throwing at the building, where it exploded upon landing on the other side of the fence.
“He was subsequently detained by officers in the Blackmountain Parade area, where he was cautioned for possession of a firework and attempted criminal damage.”
The police spokesman added: “I would like to take this opportunity to remind young people of the dangers of using fireworks.
"These are made up of explosive materials, and if misused can cause serious harm, or life changing injuries.
"Remember, what might feel like harmless fun to some, may feel like anti-social behaviour to others and could result in a criminal record if convicted of an offence.
“People have the right to feel safe in their home and when they go about their business. We will continue to work alongside our partner agencies, local representatives and the community to address these issues.
“I would urge parents to take an active interest in where your children are socialising and what they are doing, reminding them of the dangers of fireworks.
“I would ask anyone who has any concerns in relation to this issue to make a report to police by calling 101, or alternatively, you can provide information to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org”
