Elderly woman stops burglars
Just before 2am yesterday morning two men '“ one armed with a screwdriver '“ broke into the house of the woman in her 70s in the Springfield Park area of west Belfast.
She prevented them from taking anything and was later treated for shock and a head wound.
Police are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Springfield Park area around the time of this incident or anyone with any information to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 174 12/03/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
