Avril Dempster, 58, from Brookfield Gardens in Ahoghill, was turning right across the Lisnevenagh Road from the Wood Green Road when her Ford Focus was struck on the driver’s side by a BMW car.

At the hearing in Belfast on Wednesday, a forensic scientist told the coroner the BMW was travelling at between 46 and 66mph when the collision occurred on February 10, 2015.

Mrs Dempster was on her way home from Antrim Area Hospital, where she had been visiting her newborn grandchild, when she was killed.

The inquest found her death was due to “multiple injuries”.
