Confused by Arlene Foster’s warnings of coming EU checks

Mrs Foster is warning us of an avalanche of EU checks coming down the line after the grace periods end.

But to quote Fr Dougal McGuire from the TV series Father Ted ‘I’m hugely confused,’ because Mrs Foster is and was leader of the DUP when they told Boris Johnson that they were largely supportive of plans for regulatory checks between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Confused because she was leader when the DUP voted to implement the necessary legislation through Stormont.

Confused as to whether she didn’t understand or didn’t know the abysmal situation she was getting into — or realising that she had been outflanked by Boris Johnson decided to bluff it out hoping the peasants wouldn’t catch on?

Cup of tea Mrs Doyle?
