Brothers, Dale and Aaron Beckett, who own the Vivo Ballyrobert store, have recognised the challenges charities are facing at this time and have donated over £2,000 to three deserving organisations.

The businessmen have also donated hundreds of pounds worth of masks to Lagan Valley, hand sanitiser and hampers to medical centres and care homes in the communities of their Lisbane and Loughbrickland stores.

Dale Beckett says their Ballyrobert store is an integral part of the community and it was important for them to give back.

He explained: “This pandemic has hit so many families in our community and there are many charities having to adjust and pivot while also ensuring their service users aren’t disrupted. It’s a big challenge for them and they need extra funding at a time when very little would be coming in.

“We have been collecting for Air Ambulance NI throughout our three stores in Ballyclare, Loughbrickland and Lisbane, as around 40 of our staff were signed up to complete their Let’s Go Hydro Challenge back in April and the Mourne Way Walk Challenge in June. The fundraising continued, however, and we are donating a cheque for £1,105 to this very worthy charity.

“We were also due to hold our annual Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie in June, so we’ll be donating £500 to Marie Curie NI, as well as £500 to Action Cancer, which is our charity partner for our Loughbrickland Spar store.”

Thanking the local community, Dale added: “Our shoppers are our neighbours and we’ve been really humbled with the support and gratitude they have given us throughout this crisis.

“We’re here to serve them and thank them for respecting our new way of shopping in store and continuing to support their local store.”
