Fundraiser for ‘amazing young wife and mother’ who died age 41-years with COVID-19 aims to support family

The 41-year-old mother lost her battle with COVID-19 on February 22 after succumbing to the virus.

At the time her partner Robert Mooney posted: “It’s with the heaviest heart today that I said goodbye to my amazing wife and mother to our 4 Boys Lisa.

“Words can not describe the absolute pain we as a family are currently experiencing with her sudden passing.

“We are heartbroken to say the least and can not get our minds around this.

“She was an extraordinary lady who had time for everyone .

“She was a brilliant wife to myself and best of all a superb mother to our Children.”

In recent weeks a friend of the family, Davy Adams, started the fundraiser.

He said: “Hi there!

We were looking for a way to support my friend Robert and his 4 children after the sad passing of his wife Lisa aged 41, after losing the battle with Covid-19

Lisa Mackin, from the New Lodge area of Belfast, found out she had tested positive for the virus on her 41st birthday, February 18.

Lisa suffered from Addison’s Disease - a rare disorder of the adrenal glands - lost her battle with coronavirus just four days later and died at home on Monday, February 22.

Her heartbroken husband Robert had spoken of how he was “inconsolable” at losing his best friend who was “full of happiness” and “so caring”...”

So far it has raised more than £1,640.
