DUP Leader Arlene Foster has welcomed Janice McArthur as the party’s new councillor to fill a vacancy in the Bangor East and Donaghadee area.

The party leader said: “I am delighted to welcome Janice as a new Councillor for the Bangor East and Donaghadee area. Janice is someone with a strong background of community involvement and I know she will be a great asset both to our team within Ards and North Down and the party as a whole.”

Ms McArthur said she was looking forward to taking up the position.

“I am delighted to have been selected by the Party to serve the people of Bangor East and Donaghadee,” she said. “I look forward to getting started and working on the challenges and issues affecting this area. I will be joining a strong team of Councillors within the Borough and I will seek to play a full part in that team and with our local MLAs and the wider party.”
