'Enjoy Easter break on north coast responsibly': PSNI message to visitors over bank holiday
The PSNI have issued a message to the thousands of visitors who have flocked to the north coast for the Easter break.
They have advised people to stay safe on the roads, and to be respectful when drinking and socialising, adding that officers will be on patrol in the district throughout today.
"Please drink responsibly and be respectful of others around you,” said the PSNI statement.
"We would remind visitors about the council bye-laws preventing the consumption of alcohol and littering in public places and to treat our beaches and other shared spaces with respect.”

It added that officers are also helping train staff in the Portrush area, adding: “We will also be conducting DVA operations to ensure vehicles in the area are road-worthy, and police would like to remind all road users planning to visit, that any form of anti-social driving or reckless behaviour in general will not be tolerated – that includes excessive speeds in coastal areas, dangerous driving or any practice that puts the lives of other road users at risk.
"Please enjoy your time here and what the north coast has to offer, and remember that together we can encourage safer roads, safer communities and safer socialising.”
A series of parades, mainly by the Apprentice Boys, are also taking place in the Causeway Coast and Glens district today, and police have warned of traffic disruption.
They had said: “There will be a number of feeder parades in Ballymoney this morning with the main parade expected to start at 12.30pm and finish at approximately 5pm.

"The main parade will commence at Ballymoney Showgrounds and will move along Charlotte Street, Main Street, Meetinghouse Street, Newal Road, Trinity Drive, John Street, Victoria Street, Linenhall Street, High Street, Coleraine Road, Newbridge Road.
"There are also minor parades in Bushmills, Coleraine, Rasharkin, and Garvagh.”
There will be similar marches elsewhere across the Province today too.
Easter Sunday yesterday got off to a glorious start for many in Northern Ireland, with dawn services taking place at locations outdoors.
The Met Office predicts a mainly dry day today for the Province, “bright with some hazy sunny intervals” but lots of cloud and “perhaps a spot or two of rain over western counties”.
