“William Cudworth had sought the nomination in North Down. It was made clear that he wasn’t going to be the candidate and he resigned on foot of that.”

The News Letter has been unable to contact Mr Cudworth.

Mr Cudworth, who had been the TUV’s Bangor Central representative, works at Bombardier.

The young North Down unionist joined the party in 2014 after the flag protests.
