Wightman emerged through the ranks at Glentoran after joining the club’s Academy at six-years-old.

He would go on to make 74 appearances for the Glens after making his debut, where he would also be capped at under-19 level for Northern Ireland.

Wightman joins Kyle McClelland and Dan O’Connor in making the switch to Solitude next season.

Cliftonville start their Premiership campaign with a north Belfast derby against Crusaders to open up the season on Friday, August 7.
