Shay McCartan signs new Ballymena United deal

Ballymena United have been handed a major boost as striker Shay McCartan has agreed a new two-deal with the club.

The former Bradford City player returned to the Irish League in the summer and has impressed for the Sky Blues scoring 12 goals so far this term.

McCartan fired a brace in the 2-2 draw against Glentoran on Tuesday night.

Boss David Jeffrey will be delighted to have tied the 26-yeard-old down to a new deal with a number of Irish League clubs rumoured to be monitoring his situation.

The striker has been twice-capped by Northern Ireland and has also played for Lincoln City, Accrington Stanley and Burnley.
