Manxman Illiam Quayle set for debut at Cookstown 100 and eager to 'keep building to a road racing future'

Manxman Illiam Quayle will make his Irish road racing debut at the Bear Competitions Cookstown 100 in April.

The 22-year-old is the son of former Isle of Man TT winner and well-known Rider Liaison Officer Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle.

Last year, Quayle competed in the National Superstock 1000 Championship but endured a tough maiden season in the class and parted company from the Manx Legend Racing team at the end of the season.

The previous year, he raced in the No Limits Super Series for the team and enjoyed podium success as he made the step up to the 1000cc class for the first time. In a one-off appearance as a wild card in the BMW F900 Cup in 2024, he clinched his first podium within the BSB paddock.

Quayle, who began Mini Moto racing when he was 10-years-old, will ride his own Suzuki GSX-R600 at the 2.1-mile Orritor course at the Cookstown 100, which lifts the curtain on the 2026 Irish road racing season from April 24-25.

The Isle of Man rider is also set to race at the Spring Cup meeting at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough (April 11-12) and the North West 200 in May, when he will compete in the Supertwin races around the 8.9-mile north coast ‘Triangle’ on an ILR Paton for road racing legend Ian Lougher.

“I just want to come to the North West to qualify, learn and understand,” said Quayle, who attended the NW200 newcomers day in February.

“This will be my first season of road racing and I know that it is going to be hard and different but I am looking forward to the challenge.

“I want to keep building to a road racing future.”
