'We knew we wanted to be part of their journey': Significant new backing from London investor accelerates expansion of Northern Ireland’s leading tyre and automotive services group
Strategic partnership between Kerrs Tyres Group and Chiltern Capital will provides platform for UK-wide growth of the customer-focused automotive services business
A family-owned Northern Ireland tyre business Kerrs Tyres Group has announced a significant new investment from Chiltern Capital, a London-based investor.
The strategic partnership will act as a springboard for Kerrs’ expansion across the UK, building on the company’s strong reputation for excellent customer service, expert advice and premium services offered at competitive prices.
Founded and led by Norman Kerr, Kerrs has rapidly grown by prioritising customer satisfaction and team expertise in an industry often challenged by poor service reputations. Andy Randall will join the board as chair.
Norman Kerr, chief executive of the Group, said: “This investment from Chiltern Capital will give us the support we need to rapidly expand our proven business model not just in Ireland, but right across the UK.
"The focus on our team, who provide expert advice and high-quality customer service in an industry which has previously had a poor reputation means we are able to deliver a quality product and service for all our customers. This has truly separated us from our competition.”
Chiltern Capital is a London based investor focused on supporting profitable, established businesses with strong growth potential and experienced management teams.

Ben Robinson, investment director at Chiltern Capital, added: “Chiltern has expertise and experience in the automotive aftermarket and helping businesses enhance their service programmes to reach a broader customer base.
"From the day we met Kerrs, it was clear that the business has consistently delivered exceptional service, driven by a talented team with a strong desire to succeed and we knew we wanted to be part of their journey. We are excited to work with Norman and the team over the coming years to help develop and deliver their vision to be the best in this sector.”
The investment marks a key milestone in Kerrs Tyres & Auto’s growth journey, providing the resources and strategic backing to extend its successful business model across the UK and Ireland.
Kerrs was advised by Beltrae Partners and MKB Law.
