Cause of Rathcoole house fire ‘under investigation’

Police have launched an appeal for information following a house fire in Rathcoole yesterday (Monday).

Officers received a report at approximately 5.40pm of a fire at a house in the Carnreagh Bend area.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Thankfully, there was no one present in the house at the time, which caused smoke damage and, fortunately, there was no damage to neighbouring properties.

“The cause of the fire is under examination and police are working to establish the circumstances.”

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw any suspicious activity, or who has information which could assist the investigation, to call 101, quoting reference number 1544 of April 26.
