In a match reduced to 12 overs per side, Wolves managed to maximise the reduced format after Cosmic won the toss and elected to bowl.

Wolves hit 146 for three from 12 overs before the loss of Tim Tector for 14 from seven balls at 40 then Paul Stirling’s exit off a quickfire 27 from 18.

At 49 for two, Chapman stepped in to grab control with 71 off just 33 balls featuring three fours and seven sixes.

His half-century arrived from 27 deliveries and Glenn Maxwell increased the tally by seven from three balls before falling to Lungi Ngidi.

David Miller proved the perfect support with an unbeaten 23 from 11 balls including a four and two sixes as the pair produced 85 runs for the fourth wicket.

Wolves’ late push had Chapman and Miller adding 85 off just 33 balls, pushing the Belfast franchise from 61 for three to 146.

Cosmic faced a target of 147 and Jason Roy attacked from the start by bringing up his 50 from just 24 balls with three fours and four sixes.

However, his departure at 84 for five in the ninth over proved significant as Roy left play with 54 from 28 balls.

Cosmic captain George Munsey suffered a first-ball duck thanks to Mark Adair before Wolves success with the ball against Moises Henriques, Liam Livingstone and Richie Berrington.

Adair and Harry Manenti delivered with the ball but Fred Klaassen proved the pick with three wickets.

The Glasgow squad required 63 runs from 23 closing balls and Wolves, ultimately, came home on top.
