Bangor offer positive update on Mark Haughey after 'heart palpitations' in Irish League game and hospital tests
Bangor have confirmed defender Mark Haughey “has now been discharged from hospital and is back home”.
The 35-year-old was taken to hospital on Saturday after medical concerns during the Sports Direct Premiership home game against Glenavon.
Bangor offered an update on Sunday that Haughey “remains in hospital as a precaution and will undergo further investigations before discharge”.
On Monday morning the Irish League club announced he has now returned home.

In a club statement across social media, Bangor posted: “Mark Haughey has now been discharged from hospital and is back home.
"Following further checks, doctors are satisfied there are no underlying concerns at this stage and everything is progressing positively.
"Mark would like to pass on his sincere thanks to the medical teams at Bangor FC and Glenavon FC, as well as staff at the Ulster Hospital, for their care and support.
"He also greatly appreciates all the messages of encouragement and well wishes received over the past few days.”
During Saturday’s post-match media duties, Bangor boss Lee Feeney described the in-game situation: “Mark just felt heart palpitations and then sort of weakened and lay himself on the ground, so we're going to have to check here now and see how he is.
"But it's very, very concerning and worrying.
"The positive was, I don't want to sound negative, but the positive was he walked into the ambulance.
"So please God, he's okay."
Haughey’s team-mate Iestyn Hughes was also taken to hospital after the match but Bangor reported on Sunday he was back home and “feeling fine”.
Feeney said on Saturday that ‘Hughsey’ took a finger in the eye and a nail in his eye, so he was getting headaches and dizziness from it for some reason”.
