David Healy feels new Linfield recruit has 'tremendous potential' as Irish League club secure double signing
Linfield manager David Healy feels former Motherwell youngster Dylan Wells is “a player with tremendous potential” after the attacker became the Blues’ latest summer signing.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at Fir Park, making two Scottish Premiership appearances alongside gaining further experience at Edinburgh City and Stirling Albion during loan spells.
Wells spent the latter part of last season at League Two outfit Albion, scoring once and providing three assists in 10 league outings.
He was named Motherwell’s ‘Academy Player of the Year’ for his performances throughout the 2023/24 campaign and Healy believes Wells can make an impact at Windsor Park.

“Dylan is a player we’ve been monitoring for some time,” said Healy. “He’s a young, exciting attacking talent with excellent technical qualities and a real desire to improve.
"His performances within Motherwell’s academy and his experience in senior football at a young age make him a player with tremendous potential.
"We’re delighted to bring him to the club and look forward to helping him continue his development at Linfield.”
Healy has further strengthened his squad ahead of next month’s European action with the arrival of goalkeeper Aidan Glavin.
The Blues were on the search for another shot-stopper to challenge Chris Johns after the departure of David Walsh at the end of last season.
A Scotland U20 international, Glavin previously spent time on the books of Kilmarnock before joining Raith Rovers, where he won a Challenge Cup crown last term.
The 21-year-old made 26 league appearances for Elgin City during the 2024/25 campaign and has now signed a permanent deal with the Blues.
“Aidan is a talented young goalkeeper with a lot of potential,” said Healy. “He’s been working hard in a professional environment in Scotland and has shown qualities that we believe can develop further here at Linfield.
"We’re pleased to bring him to the club and look forward to working with him.”
